Vertigo is just one of the symptoms of Meniere’s disease, which affects approximately 600,000 Americans (and about 45,000 more being diagnosed each year). The condition is also known for causing tinnitus, a feeling of fullness in the ears, and hearing problems. All of this affects quality of life both physically and emotionally.
In order to combat this disease, a clinical trial involved injecting a substance into the ear that is gel-like in nature. The gel provides a time release of steroids over a period of three months. This would be a great improvement over current steroid injects that can only provide about 15 minutes of relief for patients.
The FDA has not approved any medication specifically for Meniere’s treatment, and many options are invasive such as the injections mentioned above. Vertigo treatment is also limited. As a result, many are looking for alternatives.

In one study, which involved 139 people suffering from Meniere’s disease, upper cervical care was able to decrease the level of disability caused from an 8.5 out 10 to just a 1.4 out of 10. Most patients only required 1-2 adjustments to see these dramatic results.
