FIbromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue

How Kissimmee, FL Residents Are Getting Help for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is more than the pain that comes along with the aging process. It is a widespread pain condition that causes issues throughout the body, particularly affecting certain joints, muscles, and other tissue. Women are more likely than men to get this condition, and it usually begins during age range of 20 to 50. Here are some of the most common symptoms of fibromyalgia:

  • Chronic, widespread pain
  • Spasms in the muscles
  • Pain in the abdomen
  • Problems with memory and concentration also called brain fog
  • Morning stiffness
  • Bloating
  • Abnormal headaches and migraines
  • Anxiety and/or depression
  • Nausea
  • Extreme exhaustion

The cause of fibromyalgia is still under research and much debate. However, one common indicator seems to be that a neck injury may often occur before the onset of this condition. This can be due to a car accident, a blow to the head or neck, or a sporting injury, among other reasons. One specific incident is not always able to be pinned down because it can take many years for symptoms of fibromyalgia to develop from neck injuries.

In many cases, a patient probably feels that the injury is already healed and may even forget to mention it to his doctor because of how long ago it occurred. However, if the injury resulted in a subluxation (misalignment) of the upper neck vertebrae, damage could have occurred that is just making itself evident now.

What Can Be Done for Fibromyalgia Caused by a Neck Injury?

One may wonder if this damage is permanent and is something that a person must learn to live with. Thankfully, this type of injury can be helped by using a natural, non-invasive, correction technique. At Pancake Wellness Center, we use a gentle form of upper cervical chiropractic that allows the bones to move back into place without forcing or ‘cracking’ the spine. This allows the body to take over and repair any damage done, often leading to a major decrease in fibromyalgia symptoms or an elimination of it completely.
