Relieving Migraines the Natural Way

Migraines are known for a throbbing, intense pain in the head that can last for a few hours or as long as 3 days (or more). Up to 38 million Americans suffer from migraines, while 4 million have chronic migraines (15 or more migraine days per month). Many of those suffering from head pain begin to view these headaches as a part of normal life. However, migraines are never normal, and one should not have to suffer through them.

Why are migraines so hard to find help for? They are as individual as the person that has them. What may work for one person is not guaranteed to work for another. Both doctors and patients feel the frustration associated with the care of migraines. Migraine sufferers are starting to look in alternative directions to find relief.

Migraines

A scientific study was conducted recently regarding the use of a herb called butterbur (Petasites hybridus root) to aid in alleviating migraines. This herb is a relative of the sunflower family. When this study was conducted, 245 patients tried the butterbur in differing doses. The results? It was 36-48% effective in helping with migraines. This is actually a pretty good outcome for an herbal remedy. However, it is important to note, the underlying cause of head pain is still not being addressed, so the condition is likely to return at any time.

Addressing the Root Cause of Migraines in Kissimmee, Florida

A connection between migraine headaches and a misalignment of the upper neck vertebrae has been seen over and over again. As an upper cervical chiropractor, I have been specially trained to find this misalignment using the latest technology. I then use a very gentle method to encourage the bones of the neck to move back into alignment naturally. A misalignment here can hinder blood flow and communication to and from the brain and body leading to the perfect conditions for migraines to occur. Once corrected, the body is able to heal itself from the damage done. Many patients in case studies have reported seeing their migraines improve and even go away, sometimes in as little as one or two adjustments.
