Meniere’s Disease Facts

Unless your name is Dorothy and you have an Aunt you call Auntie Em, the room you are in should not be spinning. If it is, you might want to look outside your window to make sure your house is on solid ground.

Assuming it is, there are several other things that could be causing that room to spin.  Or, at least, there are several other things that could be making it seem like it’s spinning. It may only be a temporary response to a recent fall or blow to the head, but it may be due to something more.

If you suffer from vertigo, that is a symptom of an underlying condition, and that underlying condition might be Meniere’s Disease. Not everyone who suffers from this disease experiences Vertigo, but there are other conditions that may be symptomatic of it. Here’s a list of them:

  • Nausea
  • Inner ear pressure
  • Low-frequency hearing loss
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ear)

Upper Cervical and Meniere’s Disease

Now, if you do suffer from the above symptoms, you’re probably wondering what other conditions may be the cause of them. It may be caused by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), other systemic conditions, or blood vessel or heart disease.
